The game between third ranked Leopards (29-12) and eighth ranked Heroes (24-15) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Leopards were defeated by Heroes in a tough game in Shenzhen 95-103. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Leopards. Shandong H. shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. It was a great evening for American Marquese Chriss (206-1997, college: Washington) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Trinidad and Tobago-American swingman Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-1993, college: Illinois St.) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists. Heroes' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Terquavion Smith (193-2002, college: NC State) responded with 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Shandong H. moved-up to seventh place. Shenzhen L. at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Shandong H. are looking forward to face league's leader Shanghai at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shenzhen L. will play against Guangzhou and is hoping to win this game.
CBA top team - Sharks (37-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Flying Leopards (22-19) in Shanghai 114-80. It was a quality performance for American guard Kyle Fogg (191-1990, college: Arizona) who led the winners and scored 31 points and 7 assists. Brandon Goodwin accounted for 10 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Jaedon LeDee (206-1999, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for Liaoning in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sharks have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Shanghai maintains first place with 37-4 record. Liaoning at the other side keeps the ninth position with 19 games lost. Shanghai will play against Shandong H. (#7) in Jinan in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Liaoning will play on the road against Jiangsu D. in Nanjing and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Blue Whales (0-41) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 41th consecutive match to nineteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (12-29) 101-85 on Monday evening. The best player for the winners was Harry Giles III who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). Kyle Vinales produced 30 points and 9 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jiangsu D. maintains nineteenth place with 12-29 record. Sichuan lost their 40th game in a row. They still close the standings. Jiangsu D. will meet at home higher ranked Liaoning (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sichuan will play against Zhejiang GB. (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 47: Beijing D. won against Qingdao E. on the opponent's court 95-90. Guangsha L. managed to outperform Beijing in a home game 117-104. Nanjing was rolled over Xinjiang on the road 109-75. Guangzhou defeated Fujian S. on its own court 101-94. Jilin NE T. was smashed by Ningbo R. in a road game 84-65. Shanxi L. won against Guangdong ST at home 106-96. Tianjin P. unfortunately lost to Zhejiang GB. on the opponent's court 84-96.

Qingdao E. - Beijing D. 90-95

Rather expected game in Qingdao where 7th ranked Eagles (24-17) were defeated by fourth ranked Ducks (28-13) 95-90 on Sunday. Beijing D. outrebounded Qingdao E. 50-26 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Beijing D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Eugene German (183-1997, college: NIU) who scored 26 points and 6 assists. The former international center Qi Zhou (217-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Ducks players scored in double figures. Dominican guard Lester Quinones (195-2000, college: Memphis) produced 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Jordan Mickey (203-1994, college: LSU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ducks. Beijing D. maintains fourth place with 28-13 record. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Urumqi where 16th ranked Monkey Kings (14-27) were rolled over by seventeenth ranked Flying Tigers (14-27) 109-75 on Sunday. Xinjiang dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Monkey Kings's 28. Xinjiang outrebounded Nanjing 46-33 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Xinjiang looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Zach Nutall (190-1999, college: SMU) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists.
