The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Guandong Tigers (23-12) which hosted in Dongguan their biggest opponent Guangsha Lions (28-7). Third ranked Guandong Tigers had an easy win 100-80. Guangdong ST looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Guangsha L.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Trevelin Queen (197-1997, college: NM State) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international point guard Jie Xu (181-2000) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. American guard Rayjon Tucker (191-1997, college: UALR) replied with 23 points for Guangsha L.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Guangdong ST went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Beijing D. Defending champion Guangsha L. keeps the second place with seven games lost. Guangdong ST is looking forward to face higher ranked Shandong H. CBA top team - Sharks (31-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (15-21) in Shanghai 111-72. Worth to mention a quality performance of American-Qatari Brandon Goodwin (188-1995, college: FGCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and Pengfei Yan who added 21 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) during the contest. At the losing side American forward DJ Wilson (208-1996, college: Michigan) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanghai maintains first position with 31-4 record. Jilin NE T. at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 21 games lost. Shanghai will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jilin NE T. will play at home against Sichuan (#20) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Blue Whales is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 36th consecutive match to tenth ranked Flying Leopards (20-16) 106-64 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by Dezmine Wells who scored that evening 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 21 points and 4 assists by Kyle Vinales did not help to save the game for Sichuan. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liaoning moved-up to ninth place. Loser Blue Whales still closes the standings. Liaoning will meet at home Fujian S. (#15) in the next round where they are favorite. Sichuan will play against Jilin NE T. (#13) in Changchun and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Other games in round 40 were not that significant. Shenzhen L. beat Beijing on the road 104-103. Nanjing won against Jiangsu D. on its own court 99-96. Shandong H. was outscored by Ningbo R. in a road game 96-66. Xinjiang recorded a loss to Shanxi L. at home 86-102. Fujian S. was defeated by Zhejiang GB. on the opponent's court 96-87.

Beijing RF - Shenzhen L. 103-104

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Leopards (24-11) edged 12th ranked Royal Fighters (15-20) in Beijing 104-103 on Saturday. Shenzhen L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by guard Terquavion Smith (193-2002, college: NC State) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Alize Johnson (206-1996, college: Missouri St.) supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Even 45 points (!!!) by Grant Riller (189-1997, college: Charleston) did not help to save the game for Beijing.
