Iran basketball finish fifth in 2022 Asian Games

Iran’s men’s basketball team defeated Saudi Arabia 92-60 to finish in fifth place in the 2022 Asian Games on Friday. Matin Aghajanpour (199-PF-2001) led Iran with 17 points, while Mathna Hassan A Almarwani scored 14 points for Saudi Arabia. Team Melli had won the silver medal in the previous edition held in Jakarta. With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics. Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
