Kuwait - Maldives 116:44
Kuwait recorded the opening victory at the Asian Games in Incheon. They fired past Maldives in Group A action. Abdullah AlShammari (201-F-89) scored 23 points to pace Kuwait. Kuwait piled up a 59:17 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a comfortable victory. Ahmad Albaloushi (90) produced 14 points for the winners. Ibrahim Rashwaan responded with 15 points for Maldives.

Mongolia - Hong Kong 86:77
Mongolia outgunned Hong Kong in the opening game in Incheon. Sanchir Tungalag (190-G-89) was unstoppable with 31 points and 13 rebounds for Mongolia. Bilguun Battuvshin (197-SF-89) added 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Hong Kong earned a 21:17 lead ten minutes into the game. But Mongolia took over in the next periods. They ensured a 45:42 halftime advantage. Mongolia entered the fourth frame up by five points and held on to the lead throughout the final stanza. Reid Duncan (204-C-89) responded with 15 points for Hong Kong.

Group B
Kazakhstan - Saudi Arabia 89:59

Kazakhstan secured a comfortable victory over Saudi Arabia at the start of their Asian Games campaign. Anatoly Kolesnikov (200-G/F-88, agency: Priority Sports, college: Nicholls St.) came up with 18 points to pace the Kazakh team to the first victory in Group B.
Saudi Arabia jumped at 17:15 lead after the opening quarter. But Kazakhstan pulled ahead in the second frame. They surged in front for a 35:29 halftime advantage. Kazakhstan accounted for a 60:46 lead heading into the fourth frame. They cleared off for good in the final period. Dmitriy Klimov (202-F-88) had 17 points, while Pavel Ilin added 11 points for the winners. Marzouq Almuwallad (180-PG-92) responded with 19 points for Saudi Arabia. Ayman Almuwalled (198-C-92) had 14 points in the loss.

India - Palestine 89:49
India opened win count at the Asian Games in South Korea. They toppled Palestine in Group B. Amjyot Singh (203-F-92) came up with 25 points to pace the winners. India ensured a 20:6 lead ten minutes into the game. They stretched the margin at 17-point mark at halftime and coasted to the victory in the second half. Pratham Singh (189-G/F-91) and Bhriguvanshi added 11 points apiece for the winners. Sani Sakakini (204-C-88) responded with 19 points and 12 rebounds for Palestine. Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-F/G-87, college: Minnesota) had 14 points in the defeat.
