Australia posted a 57-34 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Saffron Shiels (187-C-2006) notched 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Lara Somfai (192-C-2007) added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Australia. Jing-En Mi (176-SG-2006) tossed in 14 points for Taiwan. New Zealand - Indonesia 70-50 New Zealand toppled Indonesia for the first win at the championship. Rebecca Moors (185-SF-2006) stepped up with 14 points for the Kiwis. New Zealand secured a 45-18 halftime lead and cruised to the win in the second half. Maxine Sutisna (170-G/F-2007) replied with 14 points for Indonesia. China - Japan 97-81 China outscored Japan to finish group stage undefeated. China recorded a 44-41 halftime lead. They followed with a 27-16 run in the third term to clear off for good. Ziyu Zhang (220-C-2007) finished with 44 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Kokoro Tanaka (171-SG-2006) answered with 28 points and 7 assists for Japan. |
