Japan - New Zealand 84-47 Japan defeated New Zealand to open win count in Shenzhen. Japan dominated from start to finish. They piled up a comfortable 47-19 halftime advantage. They held New Zealand to just 28 points in the second half and raced to the win. Kokoro Tanaka (171-SG-2006) stepped up with 21 points for Japan. Tannika Leger-Walker (174-SG-2006) answered with 14 points for New Zealand. China - Indonesia 109-50 China cruised past Indonesia in the opener. The hosts recorded a 42-28 halftime advantage. They erupted for 67 points in the second half and marched to the win. Peilin Xu (2007) tossed in 20 points, while Ziyu Zhang (220-C-2007) notched 19 points for China.
