China who started the championship slow were quick out of the blocks in this one. They claimed a 31-22 halftime lead. China extended the lead to as many as 15 points at the final break. Japan cut the deficit in the fourth stanza but could not avoid the loss. Li Wenxia (181-F-2004) netted 15 points for China. Chinami Yokoyama (170-G-2004) and Haru Owaki (177-PF-2004) tossed in 10 points apiece for Japan. Australia - Taiwan 70-61 Australia paved their way into the championship game as they saw off Taiwan. Isobel Borlase (180-G-2004) delivered 19 points 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Australia recorded a 39-33 halftime advantage. They limited Taiwan to just 28 points in the second half and marched to the victory at the end. Isla Juffermans (191-C-2005) tallied 15 points and 16 boards for the winners. Sung Jui-Chen (160-G-2004) posted 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Taiwan. 5-6 PlaceSouth Korea - New Zealand 73-56South Korea finished in the fifth position in India. They outscored New Zealand in the final game at the tournament. South Korea led by just two points at halftime 33-31. New Zealand tied things up at 47 heading into the fourth quarter. But South Korea responded with a 26-9 rally in the final period to ice the victory. Kim Mina (172-G-2004) delivered 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners.
