Japan - Taiwan 90-77
Japan rallied past Taiwan to open win count at the U18 Asian Championship. Japan led by just one point after the first period but they used a 32-19 rally in the second term to open a comfortable halftime lead. Japan sank 25 points in the fourth quarter to race to the win. Yuzuyu Yasogawa (167-SG-2004) tossed in 23 points for Japan. Haru Owaki (177-PF-2004) added 16 points in the win. Hsiao Yu-Wen (184-C-2005) answered with game-high 39 points and 15 rebounds for Taiwan.
China - Indonesia 91-30
China knocked down Indonesia to open win count in Group B. The defending champions opened a comfortable 51-22 halftime advantage. They held Indonesia to just 8 points in the second half and cruised to the win. Hu Duoling (175-G-2005) knocked down 19 points, while Li Wenxia (181-F-2004) added 16 points for China. Erinindita Madafa (200-C-2005) replied with 6 points for Indonesia.
South Korea - New Zealand 81-64
South Korea fired past New Zealand in the opener. Park Jinyoung (178-F-2004) delivered 18 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds to pace the winners. South Korea claimed a 44-28 halftime advantage. They extended the lead to as many as 20 points heading into the fourth frame and never looked back en route to the win. Park Seongjin (185-C-2004) had 14 points and 13 rebounds for South Korea. Allyah Leusogi-Ape (180-F-2004) replied with 16 points for New Zealand.
Australia - India 116-49
Australia stormed past India for the first win in Bengaluru. Australia looked dominant right from tip off. They established a 60-25 halftime lead. Australia unloaded 56 points in the second half to coast to the win. Isobel Borlase (180-G-2004) connected for 20 points, while Isla Juffermans (191-C-2005) added 18 points for Australia. Deepthi Raja (161-PG-2005) banked in 14 points for India.
