China celebrate title in Bangkok

China registered the fourth Asian U18 Championship title. They beat Japan for the trophy in Bangkok tonight. Wang Jiaqi (170-G-99) scored 29 points, issued 8 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the winners. China dominated from start to finish. They established a 33:24 halftime lead. China went on a 23:11 run in the third term to gain a comfortable 21-point lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Li Yueru (192-C-99) finished with 22 points and 23 rebounds for the champions. Mai Yamamoto (162-PG-99) responded with 13 points for Japan.
3-4 Place
South Korea - Taiwan 66-63
South Korea clinched the Bronze medals in Bangkok. They nipped Taiwan to step onto the pedestal. Lee Juyeon (168-PG-98) provided 31 points to lead the winners. Taiwan grabbed a 21:15 lead after ten minutes. But South Korea picked up the tempo in the next quarters. They erased the deficit and tied things up at 52 heading into the fourth frame. South Korea limited Taiwan to just 11 points in the final stanza and snatched a key victory. Wang Jing-Ting (180-C-98) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds for Taiwan.
