Australia - Thailand 125-20
In their opening game of the tournament, Australia showcased their strength and dominance with a resounding 125-20 victory over Thailand. Australia dominated the game from start to finish, winning all four quarters and displaying exceptional defensive prowess. The final quarter was particularly impressive, as Australia shut out Thailand with a score of 22-0. The scoring was well-distributed among the Australian players, with everyone on the team contributing at least 5 points. Jesse-May Hall (172-G-2007) led the scoring with 23 points, while Coco Hodges (175-G-2007) recorded 10 points and 7 rebounds. Taiwan - South Korea 85-81
In an intense and closely contested game reminiscent of senior-level basketball, Taiwan emerged victorious over South Korea with a final score of 85-81. The game remained tightly contested throughout, showcasing the competitive spirit of both teams. Pan Chen Shan (172-PG-2007) led the charge for Taiwan, delivering an outstanding performance with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, earning her the MVP title for the game. Lin Yu Han (173-PF-2007) also made a notable contribution with 16 points and 2 assists. New Zealand - Japan 44-75
New Zealand suffered a tough loss in their first game of the tournament against Japan, with a final score of 44-75. Japan demonstrated their superiority throughout the game, outscoring New Zealand consistently. AN Kanazawa (171-SG-2007) led the charge for Japan with an impressive performance of 19 points and 3 steals, while Kokona Abe (175-F-2007) contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds.
