Australia celebrated Asian Championship title. They overcame Japan in the exciting championship game in Bengaluru tonight. Isabel Palmer (178-F-01) nailed 14 points to lead the Aussies. Japan got to a strong start. They piled up a 41:32 halftime lead. Australia narrowed the gap at 3-point mark at the final break. They held Japan to just 9 points in the fourth period and snatched the victory. Nnenna Emma-Nnopu (182-F/C-01) and Georgia Amoore (167-G-01) had 10 points for the winners. Aika Hirashita (175-C-02) responded with 15 points for Japan.
3-4 Place
China - New Zealand 60-43
China claimed the third position at the championship. They knocked down New Zealand on the final day of the tournament. Zheng Ming (178-G-01) produced 20 points to lead the winners. China recorded a 37:20 halftime lead. New Zealand pulled within 14 points at the final break. But China held their opponents to just 10 points in the fourth term and raced to the victory. Yutong Liu (192-C-01) had 17 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Briarley Rogers (172-G-01) answered with 12 points for New Zealand.

5-6 Place
South Korea - Taiwan 69-52
South Korea ended up in the fifth position in Bengaluru. They topped Taiwan in the final game at the tournament. Eom Seoi (176-F-01) provided 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort. South Korea accumulated a 40:24 halftime lead. Taiwan narrowed the distance in the third term but South Korea ignited a 17:7 run in the final term to ice the victory. Na Geumbi (166-G-01) netted 11 points for the winners. Ting Chih-Jung (178-01) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds for Taiwan.

7-8 Place
Hong Kong - Thailand 59-83
Thailand outgunned Hong Kong to finish 7th at the championship. Yada Sriharaksa (178-C-01) came up with 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Thai side. Thailand piled up a 35:17 halftime lead. They dropped 48 points in the second half to rally to the win. Pimthicha Jantarwong (171-C-01) accounted for 21 points in the victory. Nga-Win Law answered with 15 points for Hong Kong.


Japan, New Zealand, China and Australia enter semis in Bengaluru - Oct 26, 2017

Group A
Japan - Taiwan 82-49
Japan thumped Taiwan to advance into the next round in India. Sakura Noguchi (181-C-01) provided 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. Japan accumulated a 47:20 halftime advantage. They used a 20:13 run in the fourth frame to secure the win. Yuki Shuto (167-SF-01) produced 11 points for Japan. Ting Chih-Jung (178-01) answered with 14 points for Taiwan.

New Zealand - Thailand 80-52
New Zealand entered the semifinal stage in the championship as they topped Thailand today. Paris Lokotui (182-F-01) provided 19 points and 9 rebounds in the win. New Zealand accumulated a 37:21 halftime lead. They added 43 points in the second half to seal the victory. Sharne Pupuke-Robati (180-F-01) tossed in 16 points and collected 15 rebounds for the winners. Pitchayapa Phuekraksa (165-F-03) replied with 14 points for Thailand.

China - South Korea 72-57
China rallied past South Korea to stay in title race in Bengaluru. Yutong Liu (192-C-01) produced 17 points and 21 rebounds in the victory. China piled up a 43:29 halftime lead. They maintained the pressure throughout the second half and raced to the win. Zhou Jing (173-F-03) netted 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for China. Na Geumbi (166-G-01) and Eom Seoi (176-F-01) provided 12 points each for South Korea.

Australia - Hong Kong 123-29
Australia eased into the semifinal stage as they fired past Hong Kong. Six players scored in double digits for the winners. Nnenna Emma-Nnopu (182-F/C-01) and Ashlee Hannan (192-C-01) produced 16 points each to lead the effort. Australia piled up a 63:16 halftime lead. They held Hong Kong to just 13 points in the second half to ice the win. Georgia Amoore (167-G-01) had 17 points in the victory. Yat-Hei Yeung replied with 5 points for Hong Kong.

Taiwan - New Zealand 66-71
New Zealand occupied the second position in Group A. They upset Taiwan for 2-1 record. Charlisse Leger-Walker (174-G-01) came up with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The Kiwis posted a 33:29 halftime lead. Taiwan eked out a one-point lead at the final break. But New Zealand went on a 22:16 run to ice the win. Sharne Pupuke-Robati (180-F-01) chipped in 17 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Tseng Hsuan-Yi (168-G-01) replied with 15 points for Taiwan.

Australia - South Korea 83-50
Australia fired past South Korea to finish on top of Group A. Isabel Palmer (178-F-01) produced 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the winners. Australia grabbed a 31:19 halftime lead. They added 52 points in the second half and cruised to the win. Georgia Amoore (167-G-01) and Last-Tear Poa (179-F-01) accounted for 12 points each. Na Geumbi (166-G-01) answered with 23 points for South Korea.

Thailand - Hong Kong 93-64
Thailand opened win count at the championship. They defeated Hong Kong for 1-2 record in Group B. Nantanach Chumjinda (156-G-02) fired 24 points for the winners. Hong Kong enjoyed a 24:18 lead ten minutes into the game. But Thailand used a 43:28 run in the second half to secure the victory. Yada Sriharaksa (178-C-01) had 17 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Nga-Win Law answered with 18 points for Hong Kong.

China - Japan 53-70
Japan knocked down China to record the third straight win in India. Misa Hayashi (174-SF-01) recorded 12 points in the win. China ensured a 34:30 halftime lead. Japan used a 22:9 run in the third quarter to pull ahead. They held China to just 10 points in the fourth term and raced to the victory. Sakura Noguchi (181-C-01) had 11 points for the winners. Yutong Liu (192-C-01) answered with 20 points and 19 rebounds for China.
