Haruki Takahara (173-PF-99) posted 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead Japan to the third consecutive victory in Group A. They fired past Taiwan to remain perfect. Haruna Kasagi (167-G-99) and Itsuki Hashiguchi (178-C-99) delivered 14 points apiece for the winning side. Su Chia-Hsien (176-C-99) replied with 18 points for Taiwan.
Thailand - South Korea 74-80
South Korea overcame Thailand for the second win in Group A. Lim Yesol (168-F-00) recorded 25 points for the Korean team. Thailand enjoyed a 39:33 halftime lead. But South Korea responded with a strong 29:15 push in the third term to spur ahead. They protected the lead throughout the final frame and rallied to the win. Park Hyunji (99) netted 16 points for the winners. Rattiyakorn Udomsuk (174-G/F-99) responded with 18 points and 17 rebounds for Thailand.
China - India 96-32
China stayed undefeated in Medan. They knocked down India for the third straight win. Luo Yu (189-C-99) posted 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. China accumulated a 54:16 halftime lead. China went on a 29:9 rally in the next period and cleared off for good. Li Shan (175-F-99) netted 16 points in the win. Sushantika Chakravortty (178-C-00) responded with 8 points for India.
Group B
Hong Kong - Singapore 49-43
Hong Kong outscored Singapore to take 3-0 record on top of Group B standings. Wong Nga Man (166-SG-99) stepped up with 17 points and 7 steals in the victory. Singapore registered a 22:19 halftime lead. Hong Kong pulled ahead in the third term. They accumulated a 32:28 lead heading into the fourth stanza. Hong Kong limited Singapore to just 15 points in the final period and raced to the win. Lau Sheung Hok (162-SG-99) posted 15 points for the winners. Yi Jayne (157-99) replied with 13 points for Singapore.
Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan 38-69
Kazakhstan opened win count in Group B. They held off Uzbekistan for 1-2 record. Madina Baibolekova (175-PG-99) recorded 24 points, 6 assists, 7 steals and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Kazakhstan held their opponents to just 12 points in the first half to open a 42:12 halftime advantage. Kazakhstan protected the lead throughout the second half and cruised to the victory. Inna Kulikova (168-SG-00) provided 8 points in the win. Mukhlisa Abdumovlonova (170-PG-99) responded with 11 points for Uzbekistan.
Malaysia - Indonesia 49-50
Indonesia outgunned Malaysia to take 3-0 record on top of Group B. Tiara Denaya (164-G-99) scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the hosts. Indonesia secured a 25:19 halftime lead. Malaysia narrowed the distance at 2-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. Malaysia sank 19 points in the final period but could not avoid the defeat. Jesslyn Rasali (170-G-99) provided 10 points for Indonesia. Suet Ying Foo (174-G/F-00) responded with 19 points and 16 rebounds for Malaysia.
