India U16-South Korea U16 56:106

South Korea beat India in Colombo at the end of the Preliminary Round at the U16 Asia Championship. South Korea improved to 3-2 record and finished third. India ended up with 1-4 record and will take on Kazakhstan in the Play-off clash.
South Korea won the first period 34-16 and led 56-22 at the halftime. They limited the opponents to just 4 points in the last five minutes of the third period and enjoyed an 84:36 advantage. After a 22-20 win in the last stanza the board showed 106:56 as a total win.

Yun Yebin (176-G-97) top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Kim Seyoung (175-C-97) netted 14. An Heji (164-PG-97) and Han Eomji (179-C-98) delivered 13 each, while Kim Sunhee (178-C-97) produced 12. THIMMAIAH KOKKALERA finished the game with 9 points and HEMMIGE MAHESHA as well as Vandana poured in 8 apiece.

China U16-Taiwan U16 110:74

China leave no chance for Taiwan at the end of the Preliminary Round of the U16 Asia Championship. China posted a 110:74 win and finished second with 4-1 record. Tomorrow China will take on South Korea in the Semifinal clash, while Taiwan will play against Japan.
China won the opening tip 11-5 and had 27-12 lead at the end of the first period. Taiwan did not give and managed to reduce to 52:39 at the halftime. The second half however fully belonged to China that had 78:55 after three quarters and then 100:74 as a final result.

Dilana Dilishati (192-C-97) top-scored for the winners with 26 points and Wang Zhen (189-F-97) nailed 21. Guo Zixuan (187-F-97) produced 20, whilst Wang Haimei (172-G-97) added 11. Hsu Ting-Yu (176-F-97) ended up with 13 points in defeat and Hsu Yu-Lien (177-F-97) as well as Wang Jing-Ting (180-C-98) had 11. KAO Yu-Lin followed them with 9 points.

Malaysia U16-Japan U16 12:87

Japan demolish Malaysia to win Level I of the U16 Asia Championship. The defending champions posted an 87:12 win over Malaysia tom finish with a perfect 5-0 record. The latter lost their 5th consecutive game and will take now on Thailand in the Play-offs stage.
Japan allowed the opponents to score only 3 points in the first period and took 28-3 after the first quarter. They increased to 47-7 at the halftime and continued their dominance in the second half. Japan limited Malaysia to just 5 points in the last 20 minutes and scored 87 points.

Miu Nakamura (181-F-97) led well-balanced Japanese side with 12 points, while Sana Goto (180-PF-97) scored 11. Hinano Mizuno (172-G-97), Akari Ikemoto (167-G-97) and MAWULI Stephanie posted 10 points each. LIM Yee Wern Evon scored 4 points in a loss and HIEW Ky Lie added 3. NG Yu Feng and CHIA Mun Yi produced 2 points each in a loss.

Jordan U16-Kazakhstan U16 58:70

Kazakhstan get the ticket to the Play-offs as they edged Jordan 70:58. They took 3-2 record on the second place after a 70:58 win over Jordan. The latter finished Level II with 1-4 record.
Kazakhstan grabbed a 12-11 lead in the first period, but allowed the opponents to dominate the second period. Jordan had 30:23 advantage at the halftime and then increased to 39:31 midway through the third quarter. Kazakhstan meanwhile erupted with a decisive 17-4 surge at the third period and then increased to final 12 points.
ARZAMASTSEVA Anastassiya top-scored for the winners with 21 points and 17 rebounds, while
Elmira Abikeyeva (167-G-97) netted 18. BOVDUN Irina poured in 10 and ZUKOVA Luiza had 7. HAMADAH Yara replied with 17 points in defeat and AL HINN Marya collected 14 points and 20 rebounds, while ABU JBARA Liliana had 10. SAMA'AN Farah and SABBAGH Tala followed them with 6 points each in a loss.

Sri Lanka U16-Indonesia U16 36:52

Indonesia close the campaign with the win over Sri Lanka at the U16 Asia Championship. They won 52:36 and finished with a 3-2 record. The hosts of the tournament remained winless.
Both teams exchanged the lead several times in the first period as Sri Lanka led 18-17 after 10 minutes. Indonesia bounced back for 27-22 lead, while the score was tied at 28:28 at the halftime. In the second half Indonesia dominated the court and managed to grab a 16-point total win.

Yusranie Assipalma (172-PF-98) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Regita Pramesti (163-G-97) notched 12. Winda Astari (178-PF-97) delivered 8, while Nadya Gumanti (165-PG-97) Nadya Valdiyen had 5. Nirma Samarasinghe (177-C-98) finished the game with 18 points in defeat and DE SILVA Tyra Maria poured in 4. GOONEWARDENA Kottege, Resuree Wijesundera (187-C-98) and DE SILVA WIMALATUNGA scored 3 points each in a loss.

Thailand U16 - Hong Kong U16 71:62

Thailand clinched the fifth straight win at the U16 Asia Championship. They overcame Hong Kong to enter the playoffs for Level I spot with a perfect record. Hong Kong slipped at 3-2 record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Thailand snatched a 17:12 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the advantage throughout the second term. The Thai team accumulated a 37:26 halftime lead. Hong Kong narrowed the gap in the third stanza. They got within 9 points at the final intermission 55:46. The teams traded baskets throughout the fourth term as Thailand coasted to the victory.
Rujiwan Bunsinprom (173-F-98) produced 16 points for Thailand. Varitta Srijunvong and Amphawa Thuamon (173-F-97) had 15 points each for the winners. Ko Tsz Ching (158-SF-97) responded with 18 points for Hong Kong. Cheung Wa Sin (163-SF-97) netted 16 points in the loss.
