Japan U16 - South Korea U16 83:50

Japan clinched the fourth straight victory at the U16 Asian Championship. The defending champions outgunned South Korea to stay perfect in Level I standings. South Korea slipped at 2-2 record after the loss.
Japan got to a confident start. They triggered a 22:12 rally in the opening quarter. Japan unleashed 25 points in the second term and built a 21-point halftime advantage. Japan held their opponents to just 7 points in the third term. They opened a comfortable 30-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. South Korea could not match their opponents tempo and had to surrender at the end.
Hinano Mizuno (172-G-97) netted 15 points to lead the winners. Tamami Nakada (180-C-97) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. Kim Yejin (173-F-97) responded with 11 points for South Korea. An Heji (164-PG-97) and Han Eomji (179-C-98) added 10 points each in the loss.

China U16 - Malaysia U16 90:28

China earned the third victory at the U16 Asia Championship. They fired past Malaysia to recover from a heavy defeat to Japan.
Zhang Lingge (187-C-99) recorded 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the winners.
China set the tone early in the encounter. They built a 27:6 lead after the opening frame. China boosted the gap in the second term. They accumulated a massive 45:12 halftime advantage. China stayed unsurpassable defensively in the second half. They secured a 68:19 lead at the final intermission. China never looked back en route to the victory afterwards.
Zhang Manman (172-G-97) and Dilana Dilishati (192-C-97) recorded 13 points each for the winners. Kar Syuen Khoo (163-G-98) responded with 9 points for Malaysia. Evon Lim had 4 points in the loss.

Taiwan U16 - India U16 105:50

Taiwan secured the second victory in Colombo. They defeated India for 2-2 record in Level I. Hsu Yu-Lien (177-F-97) recorded 24 points to lead the winning side.
Taiwan unloaded 28 points in the first period. They built a 12-point lead at the first break. Taiwan maintained the tempo throughout the second term. They established a 57:35 halftime advantage. Taiwan did not slow down in the second half. They marched to a comfortable 81:43 lead at the final intermission. Taiwan kept India at bay throughout the fourth frame and sealed a comfortable victory at the end. Wang Jing-Ting (180-C-98) had 11 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Vimmy Varkey (158-PG-97) responded with 9 points for India. Riya Verma (179-F-98) netted 8 points in the losing case.

Level II
Kazakhstan U16 - Sri Lanka U16 69:45

Kazakhstan claimed the second win at the U16 Asia Championship. They upset hosting Sri Lanka for 2-2 record in Level II.
Alexandra Kovalevskaya (170-F/G-97) produced 19 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.
Kazakhstan eked out a 16:13 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew drastically in the second term. Kazakhstan jumped to a massive 41:23 halftime advantage. Sri Lanka clipped the deficit in the third term. The hosts got within 13 points at the final intermission. But Kazakhstan opened the fourth term on a 14:3 run and cruised to the victory.
Karina Olenberg (179-F-98) produced 12 points, while Anastassiya Arzamastseva had 9 points in the win. Nirma Samarasinghe (177-C-98) responded with 18 points for Sri Lanka. Lavanya De Silva added 10 points in the losing effort.

Hong Kong U16 - Indonesia U16 38:33

Hong Kong scraped past Indonesia at the U16 Asia Championship in Sri Lanka. The win carried Hong Kong at 3-1 record in the second place in Level II ladder. Indonesia fell at 2-2 record after the loss.
Tse Yik Lam (166-PG-97) and Ko Tsz Ching (158-SF-97) finished with 10 points each for the winners.
Hong Kong held their opponents to 2 points in the opening quarter and secured a 7-point lead. But Indonesia improved their performance in the second quarter. They fired 12 points in the second stanza cutting the deficit to a single point 14:15 at halftime. Hong Kong boosted the gap in the third term. They accounted for a 27:24 advantage before the fourth period. Hong Kong held Indonesia to 9 points in the final stanza and snatched a tough victory at the end.
Cheung Wa Sin (163-SF-97) connected for 6 points in the win. Ida Wijaya replied with 10 points and 12 rebounds for Indonesia. Regita Pramesti (163-G-97) tossed in 7 points and 9 boards in the losing effort.

Hong Kong U16:

Thailand U16 - Jordan U16 87:51

Thailand registered the fourth straight win at the U16 Asia Championship in Sri Lanka. They topped Jordan for 4-0 record on top of Level II ladder.
Varitta Srijunvong (168-F-97) scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace the effort.
Thailand spurred ahead to gain a 4-point lead after ten minutes of action 19:15. They stayed in charge throughout the second frame. The Thai youngsters built a 36:23 halftime advantage. Thailand fired 26 points in the third period to boost the gap. They entered the fourth frame up by 28 points. Thailand scored 25 points in the final stanza and secured a comfortable victory at the end.
Rujiwan Bunsinprom (173-F-98) accounted for 15 points, while Amphawa Thuamon (173-F-97) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Sabbagh replied with 14 points and 13 boards for Jordan. Marya Al Hinn had 12 points and 16 boards in the defeat.
