Level I
Japan U16 - China U16 75:59

Japan recorded the third straight win at the U16 Asia Championship. They overcame China to stay unbeaten. The reigning champions got 22 points and 9 rebounds from Tamami Nakada.
Japan snatched a 20:18 lead after the opening quarter. They stayed in front throughout the second period. Japan accounted for a 41:32 halftime lead. China struggled to get any closer in the third term. Japan extended the lead to as many as 18 points heading into the fourth frame 59:41. Japan held on to the advantage and cruised to the victory at the end.
Yuki Kato (177-PF-97) chipped in 15 points, while Kiri Endo added 11 points in the victory. Zou Qijia (178-F-98) responded with 18 points for China. Wang Haimei (172-G-97) had 16 points in the loss.

South Korea U16-Chinese Taipei U16 89:67

South Korea rout Chinese Taipei in Colombo in Day 3 of the U16 Asia Championship. The Korean side improved to 2-1 record after an 89:67 win. Chinese Taipei meanwhile fell at 1-2 record.
Chinese Taipei surprised the opponents with a 16-9 start and led 27-25 after the first period. The latter had 38:35 lead midway through the second frame, but South Korea erupted with a 24-1 surge in the next 5 minutes to take 59:39 halftime advantage. South Korea led 77:53 after three quarters and won the game by 22 points.
KANG Yoolim paced all the winners with 21 points and KIM Yejin nailed 11. HAN Eomji delivered 9, whilst YUN Yebin, LEE Jiwoo and CHOI Seonhwa had 8 each. CHIU Jun-Lin replied with 12 points in the losing effort and HSU Yu-Lien notched 11. KAO Yu-Lin poured in 9, whilst YANG Yen-Ting added 8.

India U16-Malaysia U16 57:55

India grabbed valuable win over Malaysia in day 3 of the U16 Asia Championship. India improved to 1-2 record in level I after a 57:55 win. Malaysia meanwhile remained winless at the tournament.
India won the first period 17-10 and had 29-24 lead at the halftime. Malaysia however dominated the third period and came up with a necessary run to tie the score at 43:43. India found their saviors in
Lopamudra Thimmaiah (170-F-98) and Gagandeep Kaur (173-F-97) to lead the way in the final period before clinching the issue in a final flurry.
Bhandavya Hemmige (163-F-98) top-scored for the winners with 12 points and VERMA Riya netted 11. KOLLAM THODI Mayukha scored 10, whilst Gagandeep Kaur and THIMMAIAH KOKKALERA brought 8 each. HIEW Ky Lie finished the game with 12 points and 11 rebounds in defeat and KHOO Kar Syuen added 11. LIM Yee Wern Evon and NG Yu Feng followed them with 10 points apiece.

Sri Lanka U16-Thailand U16 51:82

Thailand silence the hosts to stay perfect at the Level II of the U16 Asia Championship. Thailand needed an 82:51 win for 3-0 record. Sri Lanka meanwhile fell at 0-3 record.
Thailand started the game with a 12-5 lead and had 24-12 advantage after the first period. The guests improved to 15 points at the halftime as they enjoyed a 46:31 lead after 20 minutes of the game. Moreover the lead grew to 66:45 at the end of the third frame and then Thailand added final 16-6 in the last stanza.
BUNSINPROM Rujiwan and THUAMON Amphawa stepped up with 14 points each for the winners. SIRIPHUNTHANUN Kwanchanok and PRAJUAPSOOK Kanokwan nailed 12 each while LUMDAPPANG Thunchanok scored 7. DE SILVA WIMALATUNGA Manikku finished the game with 21 points in the losing effort, whilst SAMARASINGHE ARACHCHIGE had 15. GOONEWARDENA Kottege Dona poured in 10 points in defeat.

Hong Kong U16 - Jordan U16 83:50

Hong Kong registered the second win at the U16 Asia Championship. They overcame Jordan for 2-1 record in Level II standings. Shuk Yi Liu posted 18 points to lead the winners.
Hong Kong held their opponents to just 8 points in the opening frame building an 8-point lead. The gap grew deeper in the second frame. Hong Kong established a 33:20 halftime advantage. Things got more complicated for Jordan in the third term. They faced a massive 22-point deficit heading into the fourth frame. Hong Kong never looked back afterwards cruising to the victory.
Cheung Wa Sin (163-SF-97) delivered 14 points, while Fong Tsz Yan (170-PF-97) had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Tala Sabbagh responded with 19 points for Jordan. Liliana Abu Jbara had 11 points in the loss.

Indonesia U16 - Kazakhstan U16 63:54 (OT)

Indonesia posted the second victory at the U16 Asia Championship. They prevailed against Kazakhstan in overtime to improve at 2-1 record in Level II.
Regita Pramesti (163-G-97) notched 23 points to lead the winners.
Kazakhstan held their opponents to just 6 points in the opening quarter and opened an 11-point lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the second frame. Kazakhstan arrived at the interval up by 11 points 29:18. But Indonesia turned things around in the third period. They went on a strong 21:9 rally to snatch a 1-point lead at the third break. Kazakhstan tied things up at 49 after forty minutes of action and sent the game into overtime. However Indonesia sparked a 14:5 run in the extra period and sealed the victory at the end.
Yusranie Assipalma (172-PF-98) finished with 10 points, while Nadya Gumanti (165-PG-97) had 8 points in the win. Elmira Abikeyeva responded with 16 points for Kazakhstan. Anastassiya Arzamastseva had 14 points and 19 rebounds in the defeat.
