Defending Champions post the second win at the U16 Asia Championship. Japan overcame Chinese Taipei 87:56 and improved to 2-0 record in Level I. Chinese Taipei meanwhile fell at 1-1 record.
Japan won the start of the game 10-6 and had 27-16 lead after 10 minutes. They enjoyed a 33-21 advantage midway through the second period and increased to 51:25 at the halftime. The difference grew up to 20 points in the third quarter, while a 9-3 run allowed Chinese Taipei to close the period at 65:41. Japan won the last stanza 22-15 and achieved the second straight win.
Hinano Mizuno (172-G-97) stepped up with 22 points and Kiri Endo (167-PG-97) notched 12. Tamami Nakada (180-C-97) delivered 10, whilst IKEMOTO Akari, AKAHO Himawari and MAWULI Stephanie poured in 8 each. Wang Jing-Ting (180-C-98) finished the game with 11 points and Hsu Yu-Lien (177-F-97) added 10. Hsu Ting-Yu (176-F-97) scored 7, whilst CHIU Jun-Lin and CHO Ching chipped in 6 apiece.

China recorded the second straight victory at the U16 Asian Championship in Colombo. Wang Zhen (189-F-97) scored 24 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace the winners. China fired 31 points in the opening frame and cleared off to a 23-point lead. China stayed dominant throughout the second term. They piled up a 40-point halftime advantage. China did not loosen the grasp in the second half. They unleashed 26 points in the third term opening a massive 51-point lead into the fourth frame. China stayed aggressive throughout the final term and never looked back en route to the win. Niu Jia (192-C-97) had 21 points and 8 rebounds, while Wenxi Ha added 12 points and 10 boards for China. Riya Verma (179-F-98) answered with 15 points for India. Bhandavya Mahesha had 14 points in the loss.

South Korea U16 - Malaysia U16 86:46
South Korea earned the opening victory at the U16 Asia Championship in Sri Lanka. Choi Seonhwa (174-F-97) delivered 17 points to lead the winners. South Korea eked out a 17:14 lead after ten minutes of action. They boosted the gap in the second term. South Korea limited their opponents to just 8 points in the period and built a 41:22 halftime advantage. South Korea exploded with 26 points in the third frame and raced to a comfortable 30-point lead. The Korean team held Malaysia to just 9 points in the final frame and sealed the winning outcome. Yun Yebin (176-G-97) notched 15 points, while Hyemi Lee and Yejin Kim had 9 points apiece in the win. Evon Lim responded with 14 points for Malaysia. Kar Syuen Khoo (163-G-98) had 8 points in the losing effort.

Kazakhstan U16- Hong Kong U16 79:52
Kazakhstan open Day 2 with the win over Hong Kong in Level II of the U16 Asia Championship. They needed a 79:52 victory to tie both records at 1-1. Kazakhstan won the opening tip 12:8 and reached 25:12 lead at the end of the first 10 minutes. Hong Kong reduced to 7 points midway through the second frame, while Kazakhstan took 39:23 at the halftime. The latter continued their dominance in the third period and reached 60:39 after 30 minutes in the court. Kazakhstan won the last stanza 19-13 and celebrated a comfortable win.
Aleksandra Kovalevskaya top-scored for the winners with 22 points and ZUKOVA Luiza notched 11. ABIKEYEVA Elmira and ARZAMASTSEVA Anastassiya delivered 10 each, whilst YARULINA Sabina had 9. Cheung Wa Sin (163-SF-97) produced 16 points in defeat. Lui Shuk Yi (171-SF-98) poured in 10 and CHOW Tsz Ting put up 5.

Thailand improved to 2-0 record in Level II of the U16 Asia Championship. They overcame Indonesia 71:42 to remain the only undefeated team. Indonesia meanwhile fell at 1-1 record. Indonesia surprised the opponents with a 5-1 start, but trailed 2 points after 10 minutes. Thailand had 23-15 lead midway through the second frame and enjoyed a 31-19 lead at the halftime. Moreover they increased to 51:30 at the end of the third period and celebrated a win by 29 points at the end.
Kanokwan Prajuapsook (177-C-98) top-scored for the winners with 13, while Rujiwan Bunsinprom (173-F-98) poured in 12. Amphawa Thuamon (173-F-97) added 11 and SIRIPHUNTHANUN Kwanchanok scored 9. Nadya Gumanti (165-PG-97) Nadya Valdiyen replied with 13 points in the losing effort and Nirmala Wijaya (167-PG-97) Ida Ayu Nirmala Ratih produced 11. PRAMESTI Regita chipped in 7, whilst ASTARI Ni Nyoman Winda Ayu brought 5.

Jordan recorded the first win at the U16 Asia Championship. They overcame hosting Sri Lanka to gain 1-1 record at Level II. Tala Sabbagh delivered 21 points and 18 boards for the winners. Jordan knocked down 23 points in the starting quarter and gained a 12-point lead at the first intermission. Sri Lanka narrowed the gap in the second quarter. The hosts got within 9 points at the interval. Jordan held Sri Lanka to just 9 points in the third term. They opened a 14-point advantage at the final intermission. Jordan unleashed 23 points in the fourth term and sealed the victory. Liliana Abu Jbara accounted for 20 points. Tala Shahatit netted 10 points and grabbed 10 boards in the victory.
