Bangladesh Navy emerged as the champions of the Citycell Independence Day Basketball Tournament 2012 beating Bangladesh Army 60-57 in a very competitive final at the Dhanmondi Indoor Basketball Gymnasium on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Army led the first half 28-23, but Navy came back to the game brilliantly after the resumption to win the match.

Bangladesh Army led the first half 28-23, but Navy came back to the game brilliantly after the resumption to win the match.
Navys Mithun Bishwas was the highest scorer with 27 points while his teammate Mizan added 13. Mithun Sarkar and Tofazzal caged 16 and 13 points respectively for the Army.
State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Capt (Retd) AB Tajul Islam was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and the minister distributed the prizes among the winners.

Bangladesh Army will lock horns with Rangers in the first semifinal of the Citycell Independence Day Basketball at the Dhanmondi Wooden Floor Gymnasium today.
Bangladesh Navy and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will lock horns in the second semifinal at the same venue.
In the last day of the of group matches on Sunday, Bangladesh Navy beat BKSP on 56-40 points. Mithun of Navy was the highest scorer with 28 points

Nepal celebrated victory at Middle Asia SAARC Division Qualifiers for Fiba Asia Championship consolation final. They shot down Bangladesh to step onto the pedestal in New Delhi. Sadish Pradhan knocked down 24 points to lead the effort.

They limited Bangladesh to just 9 points in the period and established a 15-point lead with one quarter remaining. Bangladesh just sweetened the pill in the fourth quarter. Binod Maharajaha posted 21 points for Nepal. Bipendra Mahrajaha contributed 12 points in the victory. Mithun Biswas answered with 21 points for Bangladesh. Shamsullaman Soyab delivered 15 points in the loss.
