Regular Season Round 10: Al Ittihad - Shabab Al Ahli 85-82

The most exciting game of round 10 in the West Asia Super League took place in Jeddah. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent UAEShabab Al Ahli (2-2) to first ranked Saudi Arabian Al Ittihad (3-1) 85-82 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shabab Al Ahli. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Shabab Al Ahli was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-19 charge of Al Ittihad, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jarell Eddie (201-1991, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 27 points during the contest. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Deshawndre Washington (201, college: NM State) responded with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 15 assists and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Shabab Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Defending Saudi Arabian champion maintains first position with 3-1 record. Defending UAE champion Shabab Al Ahli keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Al Sharjah and Al-Ula. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
