Regular Season Round 6: Al Ittihad - Al-Manama 66-67

Important game to mention about took place in Jeddah. Fourth ranked BahrainAl-Manama (1-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-best Saudi Arabian Al Ittihad (1-2) 67-66 in the game for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Strangely Al Ittihad outrebounded Al-Manama 53-29 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Clinton Chapman (208-1989, college: Texas, agency: Diamond Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and point guard Ahmed Haji (175-1994) supported him with 13 points. Even a double-double of 17 points and 20 rebounds by Kenyan-Australian power forward Makur Maker (212-2000, college: Howard) did not help to save the game for Al Ittihad . Nigerian Suleiman Braimoh (203-1989, college: Rice) added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Defending Bahrain champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Ittihad and Al Ahli.
