The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-rankedWings ' (0-9) road loss to sixth ranked Islanders (2-6) 72-96 on Friday. Islanders dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Wings ' 36. Islanders looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by City Wings ' players. The best player for the winners was French center Alioune Tew (204-1992, college: Niagara, agency: HB-Spain) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 26 rebounds. Filipino guard Mike Tolomia (191-1993) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Islanders players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Darrius Austin (201-1998, college: Feather River) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Duy Tran Duc (183-2000) added 17 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Islanders maintains sixth position with 2-6 record. Loser Wings still closes the standings with nine games lost.
