An interesting game for Ghosthawks (8-6) which played against 3rd placed Braves (4-8). Second ranked Ghosthawks managed to get a 6-point victory 97-91. Ghosthawks forced 19 Fubon Braves turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Fubon Braves were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Tobin Carberry (192-1991, college: LIU Post) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international guard Mao-Wei Ku (175-1999) chipped in 17 points and 8 assists. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Mouhamed Mbaye (208-2001, college: Trinity Valley) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American guard Archie Goodwin (196-1994, college: Kentucky) scored 25 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ghosthawks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-6 record having just one point less than leader Pilots. Fubon Braves at the other side keep the third position with eight games lost. Ghosthawks will play against bottom-ranked YKE (#4) in Hsinchu in the next round. Fubon Braves will play at home against YKE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
