Regular Season Round 14: Steelers - Tainan GH 89-92

Fourth-ranked Steelers (1-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked GhostHawks (11-7) in Kaohsiung on Sunday. GhostHawks managed to secure only three-point victory 92-89. However their fans expected easier game. Tainan outrebounded Steelers 48-34 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Steelers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Slovenian center Ziga Dimec (210-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American De'Mon Brooks (202-1992, college: Davidson) chipped in 26 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Isaiah Briscoe (190-1996, college: Kentucky) produced 43 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Fan Po-Yen Chen (195-2000) added 22 points respectively for Tainan. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tainan maintains second position with 11-7 record having five points less than leader Pilots. Steelers lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Tainan are looking forward to face Fubon Braves (#3) in Taipei in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Steelers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tainan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
