Regular Season Round 8: N.Taipei CTBC - Taiwan Beer L. 70-88

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked N.Taipei CTBC (4-8) was defeated by seventh ranked Leopards (4-7) 88-70 on Sunday. Taiwan Beer L. made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 N.Taipei CTBC turnovers and outrebounded them 50-33 including a 42-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-1991, college: UConn, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Jin-Wei Gao (175-2000) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Leopards' coach Charles Dube-Brais used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Georgian-American point guard Conner Frankamp (185-1995, college: Wichita St., agency: Octagon Europe) produced 19 points and the former international guard Ya-Hsuan Hsieh (187-1998) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Taiwan Beer L.. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Taipei TM. N.Taipei CTBC lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Taiwan Beer L. will meet bottom-ranked Lioneers (#7) in the next round. N.Taipei CTBC will play against Lioneers in Hsinchu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
