There was a small surprise when ninth rankedXin Hua (3-5) defeated 7th ranked Tong Whye (2-5) 82-70 . Xin Hua players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Martin
Lim nailed 26 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Cheng Shan Tan accounted for 18 points and 11 rebounds. Xin Hua's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Yuhui Zhen (180-1998) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Yeong-Wooi Khaw (200-1990) added 6 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Tong Whye in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Xin Hua moved-up to seventh place. Tong Whye at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with SBA.
