Regular Season Round 15: Al Khor - Al Shamal 92-101

Very expected game when 9th ranked Al Khor (3-12) lost at home to fourth ranked Al Shamal (9-6) 101-92 on Wednesday. Al Shamal outrebounded Al Khor 45-33 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Ukrainian center Igor Chumakov (205-1990, agency: BIG) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-1991, college: Maryland) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. American guard Bailey Hardy (188-2000, college: LCU, agency: One Motive Sports) came up with 30 points and 5 rebounds and South Sudanese-Australian power forward Deng Riak (208-1995, college: Akron) added 21 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Al Khor in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Shamal have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Al Shamal went down to fifth position due to points difference. Al Khor lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Al Wakrah. Al Shamal will meet bottom-ranked Al Wakrah (#9) on the road in the next round. Al Khor will play against Al Gharafa in Doha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
