Date: March 3, 2025
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Al Arabi (11-3) crushed bottom-ranked Al Wakrah (3-12) in Doha 103-76 on Monday. Al Arabi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Al Wakrah's 32. Al Arabi looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Al Wakrah's players. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-1988) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field). American guard Andrew Harrison (198-1994, college: Kentucky) accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Arabi's coach Hatem Mamlouk felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Aaron Mitchell (188-1989, college: Longwood) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import guard Sindou Diallo (194-2000, college: Montana Tech) added 31 points respectively for Al Wakrah in the defeat. Al Arabi have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Al Rayyan. Al Wakrah lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. They share it with Al Khor. Al Arabi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Ahli.
