Regular Season Round 11: Terrafirma Dyip - Rain or Shine 117-124

PBA top team - Painters (7-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Dyip (3-5) in Makati City 124-117. Rain or Shine forced 22 Terrafirma Dyip turnovers. Strangely Terrafirma Dyip outrebounded Rain or Shine 62-44 including a 43-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rain or Shine players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. Terrafirma Dyip was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for American center Jaylen Johnson (206-1996, college: Louisville, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Antonio Asistio (178-1995) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Finnish power forward Mubashar Ali (213-1997, college: FMU, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Brent Paraiso (185) added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Terrafirma Dyip in the defeat. Five Rain or Shine and four Terrafirma Dyip players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Painters have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Rain or Shine maintains first place with 7-0 record. Terrafirma Dyip lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Rain or Shine will play against Phoenix (#6) in Quezon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Terrafirma Dyip will have a break next round.
