Important game to mention about took place in Manila.Painters saved a 1-point victory at home edging Bolts 96-95 on Saturday evening. Strangely Meralco Bolts outrebounded Rain or Shine 64-48 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Meralco Bolts were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized American swingman Caelan Tiongson (196-1992, college: Biola, CA) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Painters players scored in double figures. responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Spanish guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-1999) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
