Regular Season Round 2: Titan UGR - FiberXers 92-129

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Titan UGR in Pasig City on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by FiberXers 129-92. FiberXers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Titan UGR's 38. They outrebounded Titan UGR 68-32 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for FiberXers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Titan UGR's players. 27 personal fouls committed by Titan UGR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 22 rebounds. Naturalized Spanish guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-1999) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Five FiberXers players scored in double figures. Joshua Munzon replied with 31 points and 5 rebounds and added 7 points and 6 assists in the effort for Titan UGR. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FiberXers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Titan UGR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Pasig City to the arena Hotshots.
