The most surprising game was the first loss ofHotshots (6-1) in Pasig City on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Painters (4-2) 119-105 . It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Hotshots. Rain or Shine made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hotshots ' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rain or Shine made 7 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Hotshots helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for center Leonard Santillan (195-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Adrian Nocum (183-1999) contributed with 20 points and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Zavier Lucero (198, college: Cal Maritime) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Mark Barroca (178-1986) added 15 points in the effort for Hotshots. Five Rain or Shine and four Hotshots players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rain or Shine moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ginebra Kings. Hotshots at the other side still keep top position with one game lost.
