The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manila:Kings (#6) and Bolts (#5). Kings (8-4) won against visiting Bolts (7-5) 91-87 . Strangely Meralco Bolts outrebounded Ginebra Kings 50-36 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. 29 personal fouls committed by Meralco Bolts helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Johnny Abarrientos (173-1970) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kings players scored in double figures. Center Raymond Almazan (206-1989) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized American Clifford Hodge (196-1988, college: HPU) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Meralco Bolts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ginebra Kings moved-up to second place, which they share with FiberXers and TNT Tropang. Meralco Bolts at the other side keep the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Rain or Shine and HK Eastern.
