Regular Season Round 12: SM Beermen - FiberXers 116-113

The most exciting game of round 12 in the PBA took place in Manila. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-bestFiberXers (8-4) to eighth ranked Beermen (5-6) 116-113 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FiberXers. SM Beermen dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to FiberXers ' 40. They outrebounded FiberXers 54-41 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Malik Pope (208-1996, college: SDSU) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) added 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five SM Beermen and four FiberXers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SM Beermen maintains eighth position with 5-6 record, which they share with NLEX RW. FiberXers at the other side keep the second place with four games lost.
