Regular Season Round 10: Rain or Shine - North Port 127-107

Very important is a road loss of first ranked North Port (7-3) against seventh ranked Painters (6-3) on Thursday night. Visiting North Port was crushed by Painters in Manila 127-107. Rain or Shine outrebounded North Port 61-43 including 16 on the offensive glass. Rain or Shine players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. North Port was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Ivorian power forward Deon Thompson (204-1988, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Adrian Nocum (183-1999) chipped in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Painters players scored in double figures. At the losing side Trinidad and Tobago forward Kadeem Jack (206-1992, college: Rutgers) responded with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and forward Arvin Tolentino (195-1995) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rain or Shine moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. North Port at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with FiberXers. Rain or Shine will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. North Port will play at home against SM Beermen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
