Regular Season Round 22: Al Riyadi - Maristes 110-68

LBL top team - Al Riyadi (18-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Maristes (7-12) in Beirut 110-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maristes. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Maristes' 40. They outrebounded Maristes 52-18 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al Riyadi players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Maristes' players. International guard Wael Arakji (193-1994) scored 20 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Karim Zeinoun (188-1999) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Syrian guard Javion Blake (191-1997, college: Washburn) responded with 12 points and 4 assists and American center Henry Sims (208-1990, college: Georgetown) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Riyadi have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-1 record. Maristes at the other side keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Al Markaziyyah and Hoops. Al Riyadi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Beirut Club.
