Regular Season Round 11: Al Riyadi - Hoops 95-74

WLBL top team - Al Riyadi (11-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Hoops (0-12) in Beirut 95-74. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hoops' 32. Al Riyadi forced 23 Hoops turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hoops' players. Hoops were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for American swingman Quionche Carter (183, college: FGCU) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Rebecca Akl (170-1992) accounted for 7 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. American forward Lyndsey Whilby (180-1999, college: KSU) came up with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Nadine Rtail added 12 points respectively for Hoops in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Al Riyadi. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Hoops lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost.
