There was no surprise in Antelias where 5th rankedChamps (5-6) were defeated by third ranked Homentmen (9-2) 75-59 on Saturday. Homentmen forced 21 Champs turnovers and outrebounded them 50-29 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Homentmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Jillian Archer (188-2000, college: St.John's) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import guard Jacaira Allen (180-1998, college: ODU) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Homentmen A. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Tina Stephens (188-1999, college: Troy) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian guard Janika Griffith-Wallace (173-1998, college: VCU) scored 13 points and 5 steals. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Homentmen . They maintain third place with 9-2 record behind leader Al Riyadi. Loser Champs dropped to the sixth position with six games lost.
