Regular Season Round 7: Homentmen A. - NSA 85-38

Very expected game when 7th ranked NSA (3-6) was smashed by third ranked Homentmen (7-2) in Antelias 85-38 on Sunday. Homentmen held NSA to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Homentmen forced 35 NSA turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 20 on the offensive glass. Homentmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by NSA's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Daniella Fayad (180-1997) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Perla Bou Nasr (177-1999) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Homentmen A. players scored in double figures. Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko (191-1991) came up with 5 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Jessica Martino (178-2000, college: Delaware St.) added 12 points respectively for NSA in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Homentmen maintains third place with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Azour. Loser NSA keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Almtayleb. Homentmen will meet bottom-ranked Hoops (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NSA will play against Sporting B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
