Everything went according to plan when third rankedShymkent (24-3) outplayed at home 6th ranked Barsy 2 (17-10) 89-68 on Tuesday. Shymkent looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Nikolay Bazhin (198-1990) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-1992) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Adil Kuantaev (185-2005) came up with 15 points and forward Aibolat Omarov (197-2006) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Barsy 2 in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Shymkent . They moved-up to second place. Barsy 2 lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost.
