Regular Season Round 14: Almaty L. - Barsy Atyrau 72-69

Fourth-ranked Barsy Atyrau (12-16) made lots of trouble for second ranked Almaty L. (16-14) on Saturday. Almaty L. managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected easier game. 27 personal fouls committed by Barsy Atyrau helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Elijah Hardy (188-1999, college: CSUSB) who scored 7 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. International point guard Daniil Severgin (183-2005) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Hardy is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Marty Jackson (198-2000, college: St.Leo) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Michael Mays (178-1999, college: King) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Almaty L. have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Almaty L. went down to third position due to points difference. Barsy Atyrau lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 16 games lost. Almaty L. are looking forward to face league's leader Astana in Nur-Sultan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy Atyrau will play at home against the league's second-placed Caspiy Aktau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
