We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked ChelSU (13-9) was outscored by seventh ranked Almaty-2 (12-8) in Kostanay 105-78 on Thursday. Almaty-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 40. Almaty-2 forced 22 ChelSU turnovers. Guard Nikita Fedchenko (190-2004) nailed 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Sabir Tagiev (200-2006) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). point guard Maxim Zhukov (173-2001) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Stanislav Rovovoy (198-1992) added 14 points respectively for ChelSU in the defeat. Five Almaty-2 and four ChelSU players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Almaty-2 have an impressive series of nine victories in a row.
