The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth rankedCaspiy Aktau 's (5-15) road victory over bottom-ranked Zhetysu (3-17) in Taldykorgan 92-66 on Tuesday. Caspiy Aktau outrebounded Zhetysu 58-25 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Caspiy Aktau looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by Ukrainian forward Vira Cherkaska (184-2002) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 20 rebounds and the former international point guard Alexandra Petelina (168-1998) supported her with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Caspiy Aktau players scored in double figures. Caspiy Aktau's coach Bagrat Arakelyan felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds by Aiya Nurgozhanova (175-2006) did not help to save the game for Zhetysu . Kyrgyzstani point guard Evelina Mazikina (165-2007) added 15 points for lost side. Caspiy Aktau maintains sixth position with 5-15 record. Zhetysu lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost.
