Regular Season Round 22: Zhetysu - Tigers 49-78

D1 top team - Tigers (14-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Zhetysu (2-12) in Taldykorgan 78-49. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Zhetysu's 28. Tigers forced 22 Zhetysu turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Zhetysu's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Karakat Satzhanova (185-2008) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international center Oksana Nurbaeva (188-1990) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Kyrgyzstani point guard Evelina Mazikina (165-2007) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Aiya Nurgozhanova (175-2006) added 10 points and 4 steals in the effort for Zhetysu. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Zhetysu lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Tigers are looking forward to face league's second-placed Okzhetpes in Kokshetay in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zhetysu will have a break next round.
