The game had a very big importance for second-rankedTuran as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Turan smashed 11th ranked Karaganda in Turkistan 101-60 . Turan dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Karaganda 's 32. They outrebounded Karaganda 51-30 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Askar Akhmetzhan who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Alymzhan Maksutov contributed with 8 points and 8 assists for the winners. Mukhamedrassul Duissenbay replied with 13 points and Sergey Adamovich added 11 points in the effort for Karaganda. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turan (12-0) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Karaganda at the other side keeps the eleventh place with five games lost.
