Regular Season Round 1: Almaty L. - Tobol 95-58

There was no surprise when Tobol was crushed on the road by Almaty L. 95-58 on Saturday. Almaty L. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tobol's 22. They outrebounded Tobol 51-21 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Almaty L. players scored in double figures. Almaty L.'s coach Oleg Ten felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Adilbek Bitenov responded with 28 points and Ramil Urazbaev scored 15 points. Almaty L. will meet Barsy Atyrau on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tobol will play against Astana and hope to win that game.
