Regular Season Round 56: Osaka E. - Shiga L-Stars 95-91

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Lakestars (7-48) lost on the road to fourth ranked Osaka E. (29-27) 95-91 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Osaka E. made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game, while Shiga L-Stars only scored eleven points from the stripe. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Ukrainian center Volodymyr Herun (208-1994, college: Portland) who scored that evening 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Osaka E. players scored in double figures. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. American Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) added 18 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Osaka E. moved-up to third place, which they share with Sunrockers Sh. and Kyoto H. Shiga L-Stars lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the eighth position with 48 games lost. Osaka E. will meet Saga B. (#7) on the road in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against Hiroshima D. and hope to secure a win.
