Rather expected game when 3rd placed Osaka E. (27-26) lost at home to first ranked Golden Kings (40-13) 98-81 on Wednesday. Ryukyu made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Ryukyu outrebounded Osaka E. 41-24 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Keve Aluma (206-1998, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Golden Kings players scored in double figures. American Ryan Luther (206-1995, college: Arizona) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Ukrainian center Volodymyr Herun (208-1994, college: Portland) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Osaka E. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Golden Kings. Ryukyu maintains first place with 40-13 record. Loser Osaka E. keeps the third position with 26 games lost. They share it with Kyoto H.. Ryukyu will meet at home Nagasaki (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Osaka E. will play against Hiroshima D. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
