Regular Season Round 57: Fukuoka R. - Shizuoka 76-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Fukuoka. First ranked Rizing faced 3rd placed Shizuoka. Host Rizing (41-17) defeated guests from Shizuoka (33-25) 76-67. Fukuoka R. shot 23 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Shizuoka only scored six points from the stripe. It was a good game for American center Joshua Smith (210-1992, college: Georgetown) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (204-1988, college: St.John's) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Rizing players scored in double figures. American forward John Harrar (205-1999, college: Penn State) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Yuzo Okada (180-1992) added 12 points and 8 assists in the effort for Shizuoka. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rizing have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Fukuoka R. maintains first place with 41-17 record. Shizuoka at the other side keeps the third position with 25 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
