Not a big story in a game when 9th rankedShinagawa (22-27) was edged by fifth ranked Swoops (29-19) in Gifu 84-83 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gifu had a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by American forward Ryan Logan (200-1994, college: Stonehill) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and New Zealand forward Daniel Fotu (203-1999, college: SMC) supported him with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by American forward Jordan Faison (201-1994, college: CPP) did not help to save the game for Shinagawa . Point guard Seiya Horiuchi (175-1997) added 23 points for lost side. Four Shinagawa players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Swoops have an impressive five-game winning streak. Gifu maintains fifth position with 29-19 record. Shinagawa lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 27 games lost.
