There was a small surprise in Mito where seventh ranked Robots (9-36) beat 4th placed Happinets (21-24) 77-69 on Wednesday. Ibaraki R. had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Robert Franks (205-1996, college: WSU) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import center Jehyve Floyd (203-1997, college: Holy Cross) chipped in 2 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Tanner Leissner (201-1995, college: UNH) who recorded 18 points and French power forward Yannis Morin (208-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Akita NH players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ibaraki R. maintains seventh place with 9-36 record. Loser Happinets keeps the fourth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Nagasaki. Ibaraki R. will meet Yokohama BC (#7) on the road in the next round. Akita NH will play against Sendai 89ers and hope to secure a win.
