Regular Season Round 45: Nagoya DD - Alvark Tokyo 73-86

Not a big story in a game in Nagoya where 4th placed Dolphins (25-20) were defeated by second ranked Alvark Tokyo (33-12) 86-73 on Wednesday. Alvark Tokyo shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Shuto Ando (190-1994) who scored 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Brazilian Leonardo Meindl (201-1993) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Five Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Luke Maye (203-1997, college: UNC) who recorded 16 points and point guard Taketo Kato (178-2000) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark Tokyo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 33-12 record having five points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Loser Dolphins keeps the fourth position with 20 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will meet at home FE Nagoya (#6) in the next round. Nagoya DD will play against Shiga L-Stars and hope to secure a win.
